First Day of Classes!
09:45 - We had to
wake up in the morning because we had to verify our intentions to stay in Italy
by signing off on our passports in front of an Italian official.
10:25 - Following our
signitures, we traveled down town to a Tabbachi store and bought month long
metro passes. We also bought notebooks at the store. We realized that they were
really expensive because they were graphing paper notebooks – Fail.
12:25 - We went down
to Mensa where we ate lunch with our friends Thomas and Courtney. We had some
delicious pasta, pudding, eggs, and fish. We stayed at Mensa for a while
chatting together and discussing possible evening plans.
14:00 - We left Mensa
and went to our first class of the
Semester – Italian 101. We have a female teacher who is very nice, except she
speaks too much Italian. We learned some more words and listed the Italian
alphabet.
15:00 – After Italian, we hung out around the Skype computer
lab and updated Facebook with more pictures of our travels and reading Dog Fort
Comics.
16:30 – We returned to our room and relaxed for a little
bit. Before long, Courtney and Thomas came over to our room and we discussed
plans for the evening.
17:45 – We went down to Mensa for dinner. They had the same
types of food as we had for dinner, which didn’t make it taste any worse!
19:00 - Following dinner, we all went back up to our room to
digest and then we went down to Rome on the 990 Bus. We went to Old Bridge and got gelato – SO GOOD.
And then we walked around the city – through St. Peter’s, around the Pantheon,
and along the Tiber where there is a festival of tents going on. We then went to a nice restaurant and only
ordered two pizzas which didn’t make the waiter very happy! After that we went to a smaller place and got
some wine – as in Thomas and Courtney got a glass of wine and we had a tiny
sip. On the way back to the bus stop, we
stopped at Old Bridge again and split some more gelato.
00:05 – We returned back to campus. We skyped some people
for a little bit.
00:40 - Ben went to beddy-bye and I stayed up to finish skyping
and sorting through emails.
03:00 –Everyone is asleep, all snuggly in Roma. Nobody is stirring,
as if all in a coma.
Quote of the Day
